It looks like Microsoft and Capcom have managed to strike a deal, as Resident Evil 7 will actually be an Xbox Play Anywhere title, the first third-party game to make use of the cross-buy scheme for Xbox and PC. Those who buy Resident Evil 7 digitally on Xbox or Windows 10 will get access on both systems, alongside other benefits of the Play Anywhere system, such as cross-saves.Resident Evil 7 will also be available on Steam if you don’t own an Xbox One. Those wanting to own the game on both consoles will need to use the Windows Store though, which may be a deal breaker for some due to its reputation. This should help make the Xbox/PC version more attractive as many may consider the PS4 version of Resident Evil to be the definitive one, as it contains support for PlayStation VR.Resident Evil 7 launches on the 24th of January. If you have a PS4 or a PC, then you can play the demo already to get a feel for the game.
